EcoCool 11.20.09: Earth at night and Reverse Vending

I found some images of what the earth looks like at night. With so many lights, I wondered how many of them were unnecessary. So I strolled thought my own hometown last night looking for lights that didn't need to be on. I saw too many. I will call our city officials in the coming weeks to see what is being done about it. Here are the images that made me think. I hope them make you think as well.

Reverse Vending Recycling: what a great idea.
Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. has implemented a fun and easy way to motivate it's students with recycling. Machines around the campus collect the recyclables and issue vouchers to users as a reward. The vouchers can be used a retailers in the program and are redeemable for items to help students live and work at school. Its ingenious and I hope it works. Have a look at the full article below.
